Education:

1991 – graduated from Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School with honors.

1993 – based on results of full-time postgraduate study at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, defended his thesis in support of candidature for technical degree of Candidate of Engineering Science (Ph.D.).

2000 – defended his thesis in support of candidature for technical degree of Doctor of Engineering Science.

Thesis "Prediction of Operational Properties of Military Tracked Vehicle Cushioning Systems".

2004 – awarded the academic title of Professor in the Wheeled Vehicles Department.

Biography:

From 2003 to the present time – holds the position of the Wheeled Vehicles Department Chairman. Academic experience – more than 28 years. During academic practices under the supervision of Georgy Kotiev, the scientific interdisciplinary school for development of wheeled and tracked transport systems was established at Bauman Moscow State Technical University using modern design means. The scientific school constantly involves young specialists due to using the created advanced technology for training specialists integrated into the process of development of modern transport systems in branch enterprises and within research and R&D works performed at Bauman Moscow State Technical University. 

Georgy Kotiev trained and geared up 6 Doctors of Science and 15 Candidates of Science. At present, he trains and leads several postgraduate students and applicants working on their doctorate theses. Georgy Kotiev performs active academic practices at Bauman Moscow State Technical University. He established a design office in the Wheeled Vehicles Department, as well as the Wheeled Vehicles Department for development of new all-wheel-drive vehicle designs in the Scientific Research Center of Special Machinery. Under the leadership of Georgy Kotiev, more than 20 specimens of modern wheeled vehicles were created for operation in different conditions.

Within Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 218, three large projects were successfully completed together with KAMAZ PTC and GAZ Group.

Within the Federal Target Program, large works were performed together with JSC Russian Mechanics and GAZ Group. Under the leadership of Georgy Kotiev, a number of large research, R&D and R&T works were completed together with branch enterprises and scientific centers of the Russian Federation. NAMI Russian State Scientific Research Center (FSUE "NAMI"), KAMAZ PTC, JSC BAZ.

At present, Georgy Kotiev carries out scientific management of five projects being performed in cooperation with the branch enterprises as follows: KAMAZ PTC, JSC Russian Mechanics, JSC URAL Automobile Plant, MIKONT LLC.

Upon Georgy Kotiev's initiative, interaction with foreign partners is actively developing in the field of designing of new generation transport systems and implementation of new technologies in the process of their production.

From 2011 to 2013 he worked as NAMI Russian State Scientific Research Center (FSUE "NAMI") Deputy CEO for Science.

Until 2019 he headed a specialized education center in Moscow Polytechnic University (MAMI).

He is a founder and the first "Wheeled and Tracked Vehicles" Department Head (2015-2019) in the Chuvash State University (Cheboksary).

At the highest scientific and methodological level he teaches courses developed by himself, heads and supervises students` term papers and graduation theses, as well as research and development projects. More than five new-generation educational standards and programs were developed under his supervision.

wheeled and tracked vehicles, theory of motion of wheeled and tracked vehicles, mathematic simulation of vehicle operational processes.

Co-author of a basic textbook for universities, two monographs and also a large training guidance. In total, Georgy Kotiev published over 250 scientific papers, more than 130 of which are scientific articles in leading Russian and foreign journals, as well as more than 40 patents. At present, under the leadership of Georgy Kotiev, a group of authors from the Wheeled Vehicles Department has been working on a 6-volume textbook.
